Just made this

Part of the joy of a 9 p.m. basketball game (Penn State vs. No. 16-raked Illinois at the BJC on the Big Ten Network) comes from having an excuse to not go into the office in the morning the day of the game, and the day after the game.

Additionally, it is just absurdly cold outside right now (18 degrees, currently), so, good thing I bought ingredients for the following recipe last night:

Crock Pot Chicken Chili

Changes made to the recipe include but are not limited to:

- Browned full chicken breast, then chopped, rather than ground chicken raw.
- No tapioca.
- Chopped sweet potato, because I don't own a shredder.
- Half can of chicken stock.
- Dark red and light red kidney beans. No white.
- No cloves.
- Organic diced tomatoes instead of fire roasted diced tomatoes.

Here's hoping for the best.

Notes:

- Time spent sleeping on couch or love seat yesterday: None

- Time spent unable to sleep in bed starting at 1:45 a.m.: At least 45 minutes, courtesy of friendly drunks across the street who insisted on letting everyone within earshot know that they are rooting for the New York Jets. I blame Bill Pickle. I don't care if the bar is loud until closing time, but once it's closed, really, you're going to stand around outside the closed bar? Don't you have somewhere better to be?

- Joy of the moment: Caddyshack on Comedy Central, starting right now. Don't mind if I do. Boom. Kenny Loggins baby.
